Learn MoreSulfidation corrosion in Claus Waste Heat Boilers (WHB) is one of the leading causes of unexpected fail-ures that result in unscheduled shutdowns of Sulphur Re-covery Units (SRUs). Sulfidation corrosion is caused by two main factors: high temperatures, typically exceeding 650°F or 343°C, and hydrogen sulphide (H2S). Both fac-tors are prevalent in an SRU, especially in the front-end where the Reaction Furnace and WHB operate. Refrac-tory lining is used as protection wherever metal surfaces may see high temperatures and H2S. Other special pro-tection measures are put in place in the front end of the WHB in the form of ceramic ferrules to protect the tube-to-tubesheet transition joint as well as the first several inches of tubing. It's in this region of the WHB …

Learn MoreClaus Process Claus processes consist of a thermal reactor furnace, where the acid gas (mainly H2S) is fed together with combustion air, a waste heat boiler to recover heat and generate medium pressure steam, a series of sulfur condenser and a series of catalytic
Learn MoreWhile analyzing the heat losses in a boiler, many factors should be taken. The main heat losses of the boiler are as follows: incomplete combustion, excess air, flue gas heat loss due to water vapor in flue gas temperature, fuel type, boiler load, the pollution of surface heat losses from the boiler heating surface it can be written as [ 5, 6 ].
